Auto chromatic dilemma

After auto chromatic assigning a guitar sound to my midi controller.. why I can't play back my original drum loop?? Instead, it's playing back the guitar sound in exact same pattern of my drum loop.

Am I doing something wrong? I must be.

I want to make my drum loop first, and then play the guitar on my midi controller along with the drum loop.

Is there a easier way to do this instead of using the auto chromatic feature?

Someone please help me out.

you'll basically need to use another DRUM program slot for that chromatic guitar program and have your drums on a separate program loaded in another DRUM slot. the mpc can have 4 programs of 64 pads playing at the sametime so you have lots of room. i just finished writting a piece addressing this issue in the Newbie bible.
