How much do you know?

Hi, Just got the Akai MPD24 and Reason 3.0.
I need all the help i can to get started. Like i wont know how to set samples to the pads. How to set the MPD24 up. I literally know nothing. I have been producing on a sequencer (soundtrack pro) for a while but i need to be taught all about the whole midi side of things. Any help is seriously appreciated. Oh, i also got some turntables so if you know anything i should know about that please let me know.

Yep but to be honest it isnt that helpful. I am not very good at understanding it, and i'm asking about reason in conjuction with akai am i not?

Try reasonfreaks.com i think thats what its called or hit up propellerheads website.

1st u need to go to the akai website and download the Reason Remote installer for you Windows or Mac ( whatever u runnin) and instal that joint.

2nd Read the manual. It gives u an idea of what the features do. Before u can know how to do something with the MPD u got to first know what it can do, (u feel me).

3rd in regard to Reason 3, the MPD has a preset template that is already mapped to the Redrum module and to some of it's parameters. The Manual shoz u how to select a preset, and if u still don't understand play around with the knobs to see what does what.

4th. Install the editor software and open it up with the MPD24 already connected and on. Exploring this will help u see how the Midi language that the MPD uses corresponds to notes on a keyboard etc...

It would have taken me a bus load of typing to be more specific, but I feel I gave u answers without giving u answers, because regardless to what anyone else tells u when it comes to using any MP, experience is 1 of the best teachers.
