ES8 or Motif rack for 4000?

I haven't been able to step up my game with my new 4000, but I am now ready to move forward and am deciding to add another piece of gear to my setup. I am looking at either buying the ES8 or the Motif rack. My big question is that I would eventually like to start practicing the keyboard and am trying to weigh the benefits of using the ES8 for all of my future music or if I should get a motif rack and use my 4000 to make beats. What are your suggestions?

Option 1:
MPC 4k
Motif Rack
81 Key MAUDIO midi controller

Option 2:
MPC 4k
Motif xs8

Option 1 is good for saving money the motif rack has more sounds than the MOTIF ES8

Option 2 is costly but better because the MOTIF XS8 is the newest motif has more sounds/arpeggios/more polyphony.

You dont need the es8 just get the rack and the controller if you wanna save cash. Personally I would get option 2 and ditch the mpc there are sequencers for the computer too. Mpc is good basically for its sequencer thats bout it. Also the mpc4k i think was a bad idea its like the lamborghini of mpcs it beautiful yeah but it's always in the store display and stock is overfilled unlike the mpc1000s.

ibratzi you definately neeed a controller, cant lay down melodies using pads cuz that's not what theyr'e designed for.

motif's are fairly cheap nowdays and still have plenty of power. just make sure to check out weighted key action and if it truly is what you after.


you could get a rack but then you still need a keyboard. nice 88 weighted key controller is gonna cost you. whichever route you go it's pretty much same thing. IMO
