yea, i've got my rm1x hooked up to my mpc and they compliment each other quite nicely. The midi mangling capabilities of the rm1x are nice, but it's work to take a track from the mpc and play transfer it to the rm to manipulate there... but creating a pattern on the rm1x using the 808 style programmer, arp with delay or whatever, and then recording it into the mpc, it works pretty nice.
I like how you could take a sequence in the rm1x and completely change it non-destructively (gate time, 2 harmonizers, note shift, midi delay, time stretch, pitch bend, velociy) so that the original is completely unrecognizable, but the original phrases are untouched is really cool for live wankery. But not being able to go straight into overdub record without stopping is a HUGE flaw. It would be cool it could manipulate the incoming midi like a midi stomp box or something for recording into the mpc. I mostly leave it off, but is nice to have around.
One thing I've always wished for on the mpc is the ability to record multiple midi tracks at once, which would make working with the 2 machines more practical.... I smell a JJ request!
