CEP and Audition are not really great at syncing Midi. However, I track separately to Audition by slaving it to the MPC-1K using MTC 30 fps. Make sure MPC is set to Master MTC. Ensure bpm on the track and MPC are set the same. Solo each track in MPC to record separately and enable record on Audition/ CEP. once you press play start on MPC it will start CEP to record. Record 8-16 bars because the 1st 4 bars may not sync correctly (clocks need time to sync correctly). Repeat this process until all of your tracks are recorded. If it sounds out of sync while recording, don't worry, it will line up after the recording stops. Once you have finished convert the time display to bars in CEP and higlight all the tracks starting at measure 5 to 9 (if 4 bar loop) or 9-16 (if 8 bar loop). Trim the remaining bars off. At this point you can lock the position of each track, select each, right click, and duplicate the clips to the needed number of measures.

I just found that function last night when I was drinking where you can convert the time display. That was the key factor that I needed so when I go into the edit screen I can trim off the end right where it needs to be by looking where the bars end. Thanks for confirming that.

Thats why i said do one track at a time placing a percussive sound at the beginning.

Unltll you have tracked them all.

thats the mickey mouse, i don't really know what i'm doing way of doing it though.

the way to do it is to sync your MPC. preferably with MTC.

i would slave the MPC to the computer instead of the other way around.

and thats how you track beats...
