Recording notes from a yamaha keyboard to an mpc 1000

I need some serious help with this!!

Everytime i play my yamaha psr-292 keyboard while recording on the mpc,i stop the mpc to play back what i recorded through midi.. The mpc always plays back with some missing notes or with the notes doubling up,with out the loop on the mpc being on.. Can someone shed some light on this for me please![b]

If time correction is on, turn it off

Where would i find the time correction on the mpc or on the keyboard?

Go to the main window on the MPC1000 and press F1. I don't want to sound like a smart ass but this is a pretty basic function on the MPC1000. You should read the manual and learn the basic functions and ask for help on some of the more advanced functions. People on here are a great help but are much more willing to help out if they know you have made an effort to learn the basics. You will also retain it better by doing the old "learn while you burn" thing. Have fun with it. It is an amazing machine. Peace

lowkey did u figure out how to use the psrs soundbank, i have the same keyboard and not matter what sound i have loaded when i play the sequence back on the mpc i get a general piano sound from the psr

If you cannot get any other sounds than the grand piano when you play back the mpc after recording thru midi.. Try changing the track on the mpc to an unused track and on the psr PRESS VOICE and use the wheel to scroll to the next sound.. I mean i just got the psr too.. About 2 weeks ago.. So im still tryin to figure out somethings too.. But try that..

You need to learn a bit more about this MIDI stuff, but for now, try this:
- In Step Edit on the MPC, insert a Program Change event and give it a number higher than 1. That should change the sound on the PSR straight away.
- If you change Patch on the PSR _after_ you start recording, the MPC should record that change (if your PSR sends Program Changes). Then if you go to Step Edit you can see what actually happened.

If you're trying to use more than one sound on the PSR, you need to verify your PSR can do "multitimbral". If it can, keep each part on a separate Track and give each its own MIDI Channel and Program Changes...
