Hy

Sorry, my english is not that good, and i dont have time to search long time to search in the Forum... I think my Problem is known here (i hope...)

I try to use a simple Midi Keyboard to play some sounds on my MPC1k.
Works without Problems, so far...

My big problem is:
The only way (i found) to assign the samples of a Programm to the keys of the MIDI Keyboard, is to go on the programm screen, and hit the key on the keyboard, so it automaticaly choose the right pad of the MPC.
Problem: for example key C1 is pad2 of layer 1, key C#1 is pad1 of layer 1, key F1 is pad 6 of layer 3. (or something...) and so on...
I dont see a system behind the assignment of the Keys on the MPC.

What i need is a possability to say: pad1 of layer 3 is C1, Pad2 of layer 3 is C#1, Pad 3 of Layer 3 ist D1, Pad 4 of Layer 3 is D#1 and so on.
So that i can use the layer 3 and 4 for the Samples for the Midi Keyboard, and layer 1 and 2 for normaly playing the MPC with the pads.
I hope you understand my Problem!!
(grml, why didn't i learn betther english in scool??? ;-) )

I only found a possability to change the MIDI signals that the MPC sends, but i can't change the f**** assignment of Keyboard-Keys to MPC Pads!

I hope you can help me!!!??

thanks from switzerland...

have u made a chromaticly laid out pad bank? if not go and do one wont take u long. for me i setup my pads to match whatever keys i want them to be on my midi controller.. u can set them pads up in the mpc1000 by going to mode+programs then select notes. im not in front of my mpc but thats how i think i do it.. but ya its in the notes section of ur mpc1000 in there u can move ur pads around..

the jj os offers auto chromatic assignments so u can make a chromatic pad with or without a sound. its pretty nifty feature.. but with just the regular akai os ull have to make one urself manually
