Please help me, Londoners!

Hi There. A friend of mine is visiting London for a few days only. He will be staying at Notting Hill he told me and wanted to visit the Hyde Park and Picadilly Circus. I would like to know if anybody of you know any fine spots to digg for vinyl in the mentioned places. He is looking for Hiphop mainly but also some nice and cheap stuff to sample (for me)

So if you got any Tipps plz let them be known here or leave me a private message.

Never been digging in London before (but been for other purposes). Prepare to pay London prices, which can get pretty expensive sometimes. I hate London actually, but Like everywhere theres bargains and there are many interesting records around the area, just don't expect the record you seen to be there next day though.

If i was you i'd dig back home or if you have time visit the rest of the UK and go further up north (Nottingham, Manchester, Leeds, etc, etc). I think the digging scene is shit round here compared to other places but thats just my opinion. It's like you pay £12 for something you can get in the US for $2.


If you're in Manchester check Kingbee Records in Chorlton, If your in Notts check Robs Records and Selectadisc.

I always hit up the record stores in Soho.
Just watch out for the girls in short skirts... they are usually men!.

You'll probly get the the biggest selections in Brixton (South London), various parts of North (especially Camden). Overall, I'd say it's not about the big commercial stores, but the smaller shops. Tell him to ask around.
