Sounds on Floppy Disks

Sup, Fam. I'm new to the beat makin world. I just bought a MPC 2000XL. I talked to some1 who uses the 2000. They told me i should get a Zip Drive, now once I get it, what files do i need to get to put them on the floppy disks?

If you bought a 2kXL, seek out and find an internal card reader for your 2kXL. Unless your going to put an internal Zip drive in your 2kXL, you might not save THAT much with the external (SCSI) Zip drive over an internal card reader. If you search around here and other places, you will hear plenty of reasons NOT to go with a Zip drive, except for possibly to hold you over until you can get the storage you really want. You're supposed to be able to store the 2kXL OS in Flash ROM, so that shouldn't be an issue.

You will have to put any sounds you want on to the floppies, or whatever storage medium you end up using.

Play with your new machine, get used to it, and read up in these forums and other places, and you'll learn what's best for you and the way you work.

Seeing as your from the NY and im from Miami, do you know of any sites except ebay that i may be able to buy the card reader? cuz right now, what im doing is going guerrilla style. I connected a cable to run to my mic port on my computer and recording it. a peice at a time... drums 1st and then everything else.
