so whats the deal?? break it down homies, ima new jack. I fvck around on the 2kxl but Im not all tech savy like most of y'all. I like to make beats, either with forks and spoons or whatever. What can this machine do??

for what it was designed for, it's absolutely great.
Personally though, I fail to see much difference between all these controllers that flood the market.
...and I'm not a fan of software, so...

whats the big deal??

plain and simple......

its a midi controller.....

its not a sampler, the only reason this is getting buzz is because its got "akai professional" on it.....

What would make this really special is if Akai designed a seqencer and a sampling program to go along with it that was based upon their sequencer design.


Until then a mpd16 with a 50 dollar midi keyboard will do the same damn thing.

Man, i don`t think it`s professional to jump on the train .Akai should work on integrating the old MPC into todays programs -the support is a little poor.By the way....Thanks to all of you for the information and inspiration I get from here.

not quite - it does have an apreggiator built in, as well as a few other non-standard features (I think)

for the most part, though - yes, it's just a controller (however, probably a fairly decent one if one happened to be in the market)
