tell me if you think this might be a cool idea.

in chopshop: say you create a patch phrase. when you put the phrase in 16-levels mode(tuning), ordinarily each pad you hit will start the phrase from the beginning again, but in a different key. how interesting would it be to be able to hold one pad and hit the next one in the MIDDLE of the phrase, and only change the key from that point in the phrase on! you could change keys on the fly and possibly make some interesting chord progressions.

try setting up a q-link to control pitch on a patch phrase sample and see if that does what you're looking for. i'm not sure if it will work, just an idea.

if it doesn't work, you might have to do it the old fashioned way, which is to chop the patched phrase into sliced samples and pitch each one individually to mimic the effect you're looking for.

i think it would be too difficult to implement because they'd have to create a different type of play mode just for 16 levels on patch phrases so that hitting a pad wouldn't restart the sample, but would just change the pitch of the next chop within a patched phrase. it would probably take a lot of code and might not be a worthwhile function to add, but that's just my opinion.

hmm.. i can understand how that might be tough to do. and the q-link is too hard to keep in tune in real time. but thanks for the advice!
