After chopping/slicing a sample you know how you hit mode+trim to trim the sample, well what I'd love to see is if JJ could somehow make it to where once your in the trim screen ..make it to where when your on that individual pad you can trim whichever sample is on that pad, similar to the mv8800's quick edit ...the way it is now is you must turn the dial example :Sample01- turn data wheel Sample02 only drawback to the current way is when you turn the data wheel you lose the graphic zoom,so you must resize.

I'm sending this to JJOS and company to see if he can make it work...If any other user have any ideas let me know thru this post or submit to JJ your selves.. peace.

that would be really cool, but then you wouldn't have the ability to 'preview from start' or 'preview from trim'.

I would rather have your version!

i'm not really sure what you're trying to get at. i don't get how you can be in the trim screen but also be "on that individual pad". do you mean if you hit a pad while in the trim screen it changes the sample that you're editing rather than previewing the sample you're trimming?

if so, then there's a bunch of issues that would arise...

1) you wouldn't be able to preview sounds that haven't been assigned to a pad. if you click on a pad to preview, it would switch to the sample that's on that pad.
2) pads can play up to 4 samples at the same time. if you hit a pad in the trim screen, which sample would it select to edit?
3) you would lose the "play from", "play to", etc functionality that the top few pads do.

but if you're trying to get to a sample you have on a certain pad, just try this:

1) hit mode + program
2) hit pad with sample you want to edit
3) hit mode + trim

now you should be at that sample in the trim screen.

you could also request to have a shortcut key to the trim screen in program mode.

the last sample played in program is on screen if you open trim

what also would be ok or cool if we could have two shortcut keys for the trim screen. So like you can switch between samples without moving the curser from the number field or so.

Bobbybland, I think i get what you are saying! I take it that you would slice a sample into 16 parts. But would like those 16 parts already mapped out on the pads, so you can play and trim the 16 individual slices without scrolling with the data wheel to the next sample... In a since you could pre-sequence and fine tune your chops! I think that is what you are getting at? If that is so, this would speed up the chop work flow! Kind of like Phatmatik Pro.

Actually I would like something like this! While in Trim, Hit the pad with sample001, Trim, Hit the pad with sample002, Trim!!! I guess as long as you have the sample assigned to the pad in already in program mode!

trybtek, I totally agree with the shortcut key for such a function!

yeah a shortcut keys would be the best, its simple! they have one to toggle between the fx and mixer screen so why on the trim and program screens!
Peace!

that's not as easy and straight forward as you think it is.

you can't just switch from the trim screen to the program screen for the pad with the sample you were editing because that sample could be assigned to multiple layers within multiple pads within multiple programs.

I think it's possible, but we have to request this.It would be a matter of mapping the chopped samples.I would take interest even if JJ could just help with the graphical display when switching to next sample. The samples zoom goes away when doing this, but we have to request this.
