You sure this thing works? Or is it gonna overheat after 5 minutes till you turn your MPC into a frying pan?

Is that a common issue? I've not read anything about exploding ram.

I don't have any experience with this RAM or seller but I'm guessing it will work fine and is only going cheap because they aren't overpricing for the MPC market. It's probably fairly priced for out of date computer parts!

As a side note, how do I check how much RAM I have installed? Can I check through the OS or do I have to open her up? Just incase I haven't got the full 32 I may snag this!

i 'think' it may show on the main screen, but if you go to load a sample, you'll see on the right side it says 'Free Memory' and i believe its the snd= part that tells you the free physcal memory in the unit.

it will display in KB so if you are maxed, before you load any sounds into memory it should say 32768 k

lemme know if that helps.

*edit*

and by the way, i think you're right about the price being a fair price for this old ass ram. and since he's not marketing to the akai crowd, he doesn't know he can charge like 3 times as much for this ram. ;)
