Used MPC 1000. HelP!!!

I have just got a used MPC 1000. I want to check if it is in full working order before I start using it so can anyone please tell me what to look for and what to check, or if there is anything i could do to make sure it is fully working? Also i want to hook it up with a Technics SL-1200 MK2 turntable. How shall i connect it? are there certain cables i have to use? and finally can anyone reccomend a decent mixer. Thanks for help much appreciated.

Hey whats up bro. As far as checking to see if its "fully" functional your just going to have to use it to find out. The obvious would be to make sure all the pad, buttons and knobs work. As far as connections Im going to suggest you use the search as this topic has been discussed a few times. And a decent mixer...thats your call too. If your just looking to get a signal to the MPC ditch the mixer and just get a phono pre. Hope that helps. Peace.
