We spin only vinyl since we are die hard vinyl junkies. Recently, a couple of buddies have jumped ship and went the Serrato way. I have mixed feelings about Serrato.. It's great as far as the ease of use and the obvious thing of not carrying around pounds of records. The thing is that I CAN tell the sound quality is not the same as Vinyl, especially at high dBs. I guess it depends how good your MP3s end up being in your laptop.
What do you all think?

thie DIGITAL AGE IS THE LAZY AGE!!!!!, I GOT SOME BUDDY'S THAT HAVE DONE THE SAME THING WENT TO DIGITAL, i dont care how you think it's the same as vinyl. it isnt a DJ's job to kick back and have it at his finger tips.
luggin equipment and all that, is just a copout excuse!!!, i dont care if you got tons of gigs and what not . a DISC JOCKEY : plays records and changes them.
a DIGITAL JOCK only changes the song and not the record!!!!.
sometimes there not even there to mix, it does it all by it's self with a mix they did that afternoon. i'm not talking maken your own music.
i like to play live and i love luggin my crates around, as far as wearing out my records what the hell else are they for!!! to sit in piles in my garage? i think NOT!!!!
i've made many tips playing what i play and people enjoy it,
my advise to you is DO WHAT YOU FEEL IN YOUR HEART, IF SPININ VINYL IS WHAT YOU WANT,what you got TO WORRY ABOUT ,
EVERYTHING COMES AROUND AND SOON ENUFF THIS DIGITAL JOCK THING WILL DIE OUT AND HEADS WILL BE SPININ VINYL AGAIN.
i aint changing what i have done for the past 28 yrs, i love my wax and i aint giving it up to play on a
