Fruity Loops or a Mpc 1000

ive heard of rza rockin an mp7,an asr -10 and a mpc but i never heard of hims rockin friuuity loops

You can do amazing things with Reason, Fruity Loops, etc.

But do be honest, look at any setup of someone you like. 9 times out of 10 they are using some sort of hardware/software combo... even if it's just an Avalon sp747 compressor to give their reason soft-synth an analog boost...

You can definitely go too far... buy a room full of gear and have to spend 6 months just trying to connect it... But as midi stuff goes, the MPC1000 is really easy and intuitive.

My boy Dave Armstrong on In Stereo, Eyezcream, Moonshine etc strictly uses Reason

Prodigy's new album was done almost (9 out of 10) entirely on Reason -

Powerful stuff that Reason Program - in conjunction with a 1000 your pretty much set

Like I said in my previous post...

One of my producer homies makes the illest beats with Fruity Loops. I'm utterly amazed at how he does it. Its just his thing. The beats are soo crisp and clear and hard that it doesnt sound software oriented.

He has an MPC2000XL sitting RIGHT next to him and he NEVER turns it on.

Then... I have a friend who cannot even stand Fruity Loops. He produces beats with his MPC4000 and he RIPS it up. He got on my 1000 and tore it up in 2 minutes.

Its all about wha tyou like.

Me? I love the MPC1000 but I wanted to try to expaned my horizon by working with some software. I'm frustrated to all hell with FL Studio 4. It bugs the hell out of me. All I want to do is have a "note on" function and I cant seem to find anything like that.

Who knows... its all in how it comes out.

from my personal experiences ive found that just becuase one can make a tight beat on fruity loops it doesnt mean that they can do it on a MPC. it is a totaly different ball game. on FL all one has to do is basicly draw in what you want your beat to sound like, where as on the MPC one has to actually play it out and work from there.

For the sake of argument and experience - that's not necesarily true - I write most of stuff out on the 1000 in the step edit page - (I rarely if ever play the pads) - but whatever, that's not important. The important thing is you have to feel whatever your primary work station is going to be - some people are just talented and it doesn't matter - other people need to take their time and learn what they're doing - it'll come, you just have to step back, take a deep breath and approach your overall idea from a different angle
