Hi everybody,
my MPC starts getting on my nerves !!!!
After moving my stuff to a new home it makes a sort of hissing noise
as soon as i turn power on ...
An analyzer showed me loud sines @
2950 & 5900 kHz and a few minor ones between 10&14k...
That Tinnitus-like sound really is ... aaargh

After opening up it seems to be coming from between the two PCB's in the
middle - the lower one also contains the four CPU's ...

Could it be a signal tone that 'the Battery' needs to be replaced ?
(there is one located down there... but i can just guess its function) And if so, does anybody knows what type of battery is needed ?

Please help - you can't imagine how annoying that "wheeeeeeeeeeeee"
can be after a while...

Greetings from Munich, Bastie

I have the same problem. It's not loud or anything but there's a constant hiss/hum coming from it when I turn it on.

I think thats the sound of the power inverter, which I believe is just how it is. However, look at Bible at the top of this forum. I think theres a place that sells much quieter inverters for the MPC60.
