Basically I want to take a sample and chop it up/lay it out in equal pieces across all 16 pads?

A 1 bar sample would obviously have to be split into 16th notes and a two bar sample would have to be 8th notes.

Does the Zone function perform this?

yes but it would help to know what mpc you're usin.

zone edit is what you want.

Currently I don't even own an MPC, but I just needed to know whether or not the Zone function does indeed perform this operation.

thanks

Does anyone know if the MPC 60 has the zone edit function?

Just curious...but why can a 1 bar sample not be split into 8th notes?

u could but then it would take up 8 pads rather than it taking up 16 pads.

Since I was referring to laying it across all 16 pads it would need to be split into 16ths.
