PLEASE FREAKIN HELP....Recording FX??

If someone can shed some light it would be greatly appreciated. Ive looked thru the manual,(os1.22) didnt tell me anything new; other than what i know. Regardless, what i am trying to do is record a FX automation on the fly...instead of recording it using the Q1 slider which just controls the level of the FX...i would like to do it with a specific parameter of an effect.....for example lets say my song is 16 bars...i have horns sequenced from Bar 1-8 just dry horns...then from bar 8-12 i want to record the automation of the "WIDTH" parameter in the PHASE SHIFTER; as im using the data wheel from like varuable 1-99 up and down, to mess up the sound....ive tried everything i can think of....am i missing something simple??...if anyone can help.....ill hook them up with 2 tickets 50 yard line 10 rows up...at this years super bowl...nah playin....but yall will get props...thanks for reading my essay...----------------->

if you find no other way to record the fx i would suggest resampling. just try to change the parameter change in realtime and then use the resampled sample including the fx.

go to record mix changes and press "yes". go to fx, and press record+play. play with data wheel while its recording, and it will apply all the fx changes..

is this true, can you actually record specific fx changes? i didn't think that was possible. where does it keep the data? i know you can automate the amount of effect applied to a sample/track, but can you actually automate things like width, depth, and all the little details within an effect? i'd be very interested to know if you can do that, but i'm pretty sure you can't...

would it also be possible to record changing effects, like using reverb in fx1 on one sequence, and delay on fx1 in a second sequence?
