Mpc to ZIp = fine. Zip to PC = ???

What up party people? I'm sure this will be an easy one for you, but for me
I've been trying to figure this out and I'm stuck. I need to back up Seq and Song files from zip to pc. Problem is when I do this the pc is not recognizing the complete title of my snd and program files, its cuts them off, but thats not it. I then go to load a song with that same zip on the mpc and it cannot find all the snds. (???). I'm sure someone is nodding there head right now...But help me out yo! ---------> How do I name my Seq & Snd files to zip in order for the pc to read them without error?

eh bloke, i read in the manual and i think also in the forums that the snd file have to be saveed with max 8 characters(dont quote me) on pc before conversion to mpc for the mpc wont read larger cased file names. search forum, im sure u'll get a precision answer there, or manual. ave a good 1.

Only format ur zip on pc w/fat. Use names no longer than 8 characters. Next time use the search function this has been covered millions of times that's my guess as to why you only got 1 answer cause this has been beat up many different ways and times.. Try that though and you'll be fine.

Thanks Lamp, you know I did use the search option but I must not be doing it right because like over 200 post came back with the word zip and I didnt find this one talked about...That search option has me bugging. I'll try better next time I know you cats get tired of the same ol' ?'s. I would too. Peace in the middle east! For sure KID!
