What do you think Akai is going to do with the 1000 as far as future OS updates, connectivity, features, options, whatever? What do you think AKAI should do with the 1000? If anything!

Have any of you techies opened her up and seen possibilities that us non techs know nothing about?

Anyone MOD their 1000 in any particularily interesting ways? Anyone attempt any MODs? Just curious you know!

I cant figure out how to make the whole sample play without holding the pad down in the trim screen. So Id like to see that option in a future OS update if its not available now.

turn on the loop field in the upperright corner

That makes no sense. If your in the trim screen, the View is in the upper right hand corner. If your in the loop screen you mean? But I need the sample to play once you have tapped the pad once and let go quickly in the trim screen, like my mpc 2000.

The top row of the pads plays the sample in different ways when editing.

There's the whole sample, the trimmed sample (start & end points), the looped section, the beginning...check it out. I don't have the MPC in front of me right now, but the pad usage is there.

I think sample zoning like the 2KXL or something to that magnitude will be implemented. And more control over the effects and how you may use them while multi-tracking(using the 4 individual outs).

The person who can produce a software converter to maximize compatibility between the 1000 and 2XL will make good dough. The mpc series main competitive advantage has been the "networking benefits." Only pulling the samples across from the 2XL, puts the 1000 out of this very network in my opinion.

I understand there are certain incompatibilities between the machines, but having to wait for sites like mpc-tutor to convert their PGMs is a task. I'm not techie to the point that I even want to think about doing that myself.

Otherwise, I think the mpc 1000 is about perfect, just some little adjustments for functionality/stability purposes.

best samples are the ones you take yourself, not off sample sites/cd's

Testify, Amen!

I would love to see the sequencer updated to record control changes(namely, pitchbend)

You can step time it in and send it out but you can't record it coming in.

you should be abled to do this, did you check the midi filter settings?

Sorry, I worded it wrong. What I want to be able to do is use a controller keyboard to record into the MPC, using a pgm file in the MPC and have it recognize the pitch bend and record it and be able to play it back. The midi implementation chart says that the sequencer recognizes pitch bend but the sampler section does not. and that's what I could not get to work.

nope, not gonna happen with the mpc's sampler. It is a bummer.
