Tracking out into daw

I have a 1 bar drum loop and a bass line in my 2000xl . And i want to track
them out in my daw ive never done this before. So my ? is how do I get the
tracks to be in sync and fit in the bar and starting at the beginning of the bar
just like it is in the mpc. And also have kick,snare,hi hat,bass on individual tracks I have the 8 out's too apreciate any help thanks.

Anyone got any method's or tip's I just want it to be as accurate as possible.

Recording through a mixer with a firewire or usb connection should be the way.There´s no way to do without a mixer ,but check if it puts out a split signal.Most mixers just give you the stereo signal at the output...
Doing this via MIDI ,I think,would be hard.You would have to put the samples into your DAW first and fight the MIDI jungle....
For me this wouldn´t solve but make me problems...

You don't need a mixer to do it. You do need an audio interface though. My question is are you tryin' to record each track individually? And also, did you get the 8 out expansion? How many ins does your audio interface have?
Also, are you gonna sync your MPC with you DAW?

Yes I want to track individually I do have 8 outs and a mixer running into my sound card. I would like to sync the mpc to my daw but I dont know how. What ive been doing is just recording each track from the main screen into the daw. And then manually cutting the starting points of each track in my daw and fitting it into the bars I would just like to know if their is a more accurate way of doing this as I feel it may be a little of sometimes.

You have MTC right?

1) go to Mode+MIDI/Sync
2) press the Sync tab
3) go to Sync out and select A(Master) (also make sure your MIDI cable is in port
4) go down to Mode (on the screen, not the button) and choose MTC
5) make your DAW a slave by selecting it to be controlled by the MTC of your MIDI interface and you should be good.

I hope I didn't leave anything out.

Ok so check it out I just want to know how people track out their beats
Into their daws. using 8 out's or stereo out's not midi and have their track's
synced perfectly. In the program with correct tempo and each track
fitting exactly in the bars however long or short they are. And sound on point
just like it is in the mpc. All you mpc users someone's gotta know how to do this. Thanks

using the 8 outs or even just stereo outs. And get their tracks to fit in the bars
correctly. THIS IS ALL I WANT TO KNOW.

I don't know how to do it specifically on an mpc but I work in studios so I know the principle of what you're trying to achieve.

You need to connect MIDI to your audio interface.

I assume follow Hereo's instructions above:
1) go to Mode+MIDI/Sync
2) press the Sync tab
3) go to Sync out and select A(Master) (also make sure your MIDI cable is in port
4) go down to Mode (on the screen, not the button) and choose MTC
5) make your DAW a slave by selecting it to be controlled by the MTC of your MIDI interface and you should be good.

Now you must connect the outputs of the 8-out board to the 8-ins of your soundcard (or however many you have)

Now you must divide the sounds in your track between the outputs ie. Kick out of 1, snare out of 2, hihat out of 3 etc. if you get to output 8 but still have more sounds to split it doesn't matter you will just need to do more than one run.

If your DAW is the slave then put it in record mode and arm 8 tracks with inputs 1-8.

Press play on the mpc and run through the song.

Repeat the process until you've tracked all the sounds into the DAW. I would recommend writing down what sounds you need to do and which ones you've done so you don't miss any or do any twice.

Connecting like this: the MIDI cable and configuration lines up the timing of the DAW and MPC so they both know where each of them are at at any given time and so that they start at exactly the same time. There is no music going through this connection, just DATA.

The 8 audio cables are to get the sounds from the MPC to the DAW.

You should end up with a load of tracks in your DAW that are all in time and what you hear when you press play should sound -exactly- the same as out of the MPC. You will no longer need the MPC for the song at that point.

Hopefully this will help people get a better understanding of the process and you can now ask specific questions either here or on a forum dedicated to your DAW (cubase/protools/logic etc.) If I'm mistaken in any part of the explanation, just let me know as I don't specifically know about the MPC in this process.
