Using Floppy Drive?

Sup, I just coped a mpc yesterday and i was wondering if I could use the floppy drive? I wont have money for awhile to cop the compact flash drive.. So has anyone out there ever used the floppy and how do you work it all out to transfer your samples into the mpc? Do you need a program to convert the wav sample or can you transfer wav straight into it?

What about putting like 4 mb samples into floppy, you have to spread it out to other floppys. How do you do that? Might be a stupid question but will the mpc be able to pick all the disks if i had 4 mb in 4 disks?

first, open the manual ,and read it.

next, read it again.


now go to the thrift store and buy a couple of records.

now, before you go home w/ the records, stop at walgreens and buy a box of floppies.




sample the records, and make a beat.

make use of the save function, that you read about in the manual.

you will be prompted to enter a floppy disk.
you will then, enter the disk, label side up, into the drive.


when the mpc is finished with the first disk, it waill ask you to enter an additional disk.

Immediately label the first disk with a number one.

repeat process, untill the mpc is finished saving.

or, just buy a zip drive and a few disks for $20

I dont wanna buy a zip drive cus i dont have zip in my computer and it would be a waste of money. Cus it's better to save up for the flash drive.

Now i wanna do what you told me but the other way around.. Cus i want to use Kontakt as my sampler so i could fix the sample as i want in the program, cus the mpc as a sampler is not very good.. So i want to sample into my daw mess around with Kontakt then transfer into the mpc to use the dope sequencer and make the beat...

well i really did not want to do it the way your saying.. But now reading it again it seems just as good to do that way, if thats maybe that the only way to do it.. It's just that you where saying make a beat.. so anyway **** it..

One more question when the mpc saves what format does it save in? Cus i wanna be able to **** with the sample in the computer..
