All in favor say I. All who oppose,... just don't post anything.           j/k. Please put in your info also.
Obviously tryin' to make some room for other stuff. There's a bunch of lil stuff (and big stuff) that I think will benefit us more than Splashscreens.

Thanx guys

why are you so anti-splashscreens? did one of them steal your girlfriend or something?

seriously, getting rid of splashscreens to lessen the size of the OS is like trimming your fingernails and expecting it to help you lose weight.

i like the splashscreens and would vote to keep them.

I'm not really anti splashscreen, but getting rid of it would prolly enable JJ to add a small feature that would benefit all who use Auto Chromatic assign.
Splashscreens were cool @ first, but I'm over it now. I'm more about function than fashion. I aint mad @ you if you wanna keep it, but getting rid of this could start a chain reaction of getting rid of other things to improve or add other things.

Does that mean the updates are done with unless something is removed? I was hoping for 1 more since I am late in the game...

If I were gonna get a lifetime of updates, I'd like to get a least a few in...

**** it

I used to kind of like it, but recently I just disabled the feature entirely - I was sick of seeing it. If it helps for it to go, then I think it should go.

I agree. I like them, but in favour of functions - it's no brainer.

i like the old pgm mode(i could live without it but the switchers from the old akai os would be dissapointed...)
but i really never use the real time pitch shift (mode mixer/audio in...)
i really don't care about splash screen to.

A - not if it is replaced with Velocity Layer screen (MODE over pad name in GPE). this is the exact same screen, with the addition of the WHOLE button.. much better.

B - they can deal with it. if a kid is cutting the grass with a pair of scissors and you give him a riding lawn mower, his disappointment only lasts until he learns to turn the key

Oh yeah! I forgot about that great idea Nym. That would completely take care of most of the familiarity issue with OPM.
There are a couple things that need to be added to GPE (like copy pad and purge[not sure about velo. modulation?]). I emailed JJ about that and he hasn't gotten back to me yet.
But so we don't clutter this thread, I'm makin' another 1 dealing with things that need to be added to GPE from OPM.
We can discuss it in this thread. Here is the link:

Everything said already, i just dont understand whos voting for the splashscreen to stay? I mean seriously, the 1k isnt a gimmick for me i would show off like "uh look at the nice picture i made thats shown when its powered up". Do you want pong back too?
