I don't think there's a lot of difference between OS 1.14 and OS 1.20.
When I installed my card reader it worked fine with OS 1.14. The thing was that I had a 1GB cf card and OS 1.14 only handles partitions of up to 512 MB. With OS 1.20 I could access the full 1GB of my card without having to make two partitions.
