What mode on the motif es6 should i be in when recording onto the MPC 2000???

Im thinking it was like song mode or something similar. It has to be in the mode that allows u to use multiple instruments at once. Its Pattern Mode or something I cant even remember its been a minute. But just try them all out until u find a adequate solution.
