I got my hard drive kit the other day, no hard drive or install yet but im nearly there. Has anyone lost files do to a hard drive going out? I lost pictures and music on an old computer a few years ago (when I used Windows) Is CF more reliable? MPC reads up to a 2gig card aye? I have a 512mb card and a couple 32's which i dont use. But it just got full the other night... I just want to make sure installing a hard drive will be reliable.... that thing spins and all, oposed to a CF card that doesnt... it seems no moving parts would be safer? Thoughts?

And yes... can do backups on occasion. But who ever does in time!?

The hard drive in an MPC will get less mileage than if it were in an actual laptop computer. So I wouldn't worry about it at all. Infact, I have an old 6gb Travelstar laptop hard drive that works perfectly. But I knew I would fill it to it's maximum capacity and bought an 80gb drive shortly afterwards.

Whew...Yeah when I first got my MPC last year I start filling my 512mb CF, that seems tough.. But once you start maxing out stuff and booming right along... I can understand needing ALOT of room. I wish the MPC had a better filing system for organization.
