Jus wandering wat everyone favorite thing is ... i used to quantize everything..then i started to not quantize the hats, now i jus quantize the snare and "write" my kick pattern to that...

Jus wandering wat other ways ppl do it...

i like quantize.
people complain about robotic feel with it and they are correct, but you can make a quantized drum set sound groovin with just a little leg work.

using velocity, triplets and swing setting on particular tracks or sounds (according to the feel youre looking for), your drums will still groove.

sensewondah is on the point.....velocity is often more important than note placement...but pay attention to both...

It corrects our mistakes. Think of a time scale and how many notes you would like to play in that scale. The higher the setting in quantization the more notes you can play. Also it make the duration smaller so it will move your corrected note to the nearest note in the time scale. Play to the click in the metrodome and you are set. :D
