That can change. Especially if he sees a demand for it. Isn't that how the JJ OS came about in the first place. There was a demand for an OS without those terrible bugs the Akai OS had?

[quote="stan steez"]Just a qucik reminder, that this 'getting-rid-off-features-for-other-ones' is not in the plans of JJ...

in a way, he kinda already went against this with the latest update, right? tho he referred to it as a duplicate feature, which it was, he still pulled something out which might have been part of peoples workflow in order to free up some space. i'm sure JJ changes his mind about stuff from time to time.

the ammount of memory the code for displaying the splash is probably insignificant as far as trading that space for something useful.
but hell... i don't use the splash feature so i'll take a vote to loose it for something better. tighter timeing and groove templates maybe

rich_biatch wrote:so how is it, if the 2500 has the same processor as the 1000, that it has a larger os capacity?

the processor has nothing to do with the flash rom where the os is stored. so the flash rom on the 2500 may be larger... though probably not that much.

Splashscreen should go. I say this because it in no way helps the functionality of the machine. A new editing or assigning feature is always welcomed by me.

I like having the splash screen but of course get rid of it to make more room for something usefull .

You can always keep one of the older versions if you want to keep the splash screen. This is what I think will eventually be the option. I think eventually, there may be several versions to choose from. That would be fantastic, although that is not to say that I am not satisfied now. As long as jj keeps ironing out the bugs, and we have a working system with the same features that are there now. Beautiful.

If removing the splash screens would open up more space for new features on my MPC then i vote YES..

Hit the pad to select the high, Original, and Low pads in GPE AutoChrom. Makes things a lil faster. And more accurate with that speed as you are hitting pads instead of turning the Data Wheel.

^ this kind of behavior is implemented in other screens in other ways, but i also would like to see it happen there. as well as in midi grid edit when you're in seq edit and trying to select certain notes. when you have it set to DRUM you can just hit the pads to tell which ones to edit, while in midi you have to select the actual midi note. kind of a pain but it happened when we stopped associating pads to midi number (ie the MIDI mode)
