I am interested in improving the sound quality of my samples before working with them in the MPC , Currently I am using a

Numark Portable Turntable,
Xenyx 802 mixer,
MPC 1000
ROKIT Powered 5 monitors
Tascam DP01 for recording .

My set up does not involve microphones at all.

What can I add to this set up to improve the quality of my samples ? What can I do to improve the quality of the tracks before recording? I have been reading up on Tube Preamps but I'm not sure if they are only good for Vocals ? Do you compress your drums and other samples before you record them in the MPC ?

I need some ideas to help set me in the right direction. I'm writing this at 4 AM feeling frustrated not knowing where to turn for help. Please help me out guys thanks .

I take it that no one deemed my question important enough to answer . This site is like walking on egg shells hoping not to offend the Gods of MPC knowledge . What is the point of this site especially the getting started section ?

maybe you didn't notice, but this is mpc forums, not compressor/eq/whatever forums.
go to tweakheadz or gearslutz. i'm pretty sure you'll get a better answer there anyway...
