Theoretically yes, but I havent tried it. Simply take it out of the mpc and put it in a pc and it will probably pop up as a regular hd. Copy shit to some other hd. Then DONT RE-FORMAT IT IN THE PC, instead put it back in the mpc and do a FULL FORMAT there. On OS 1.71.

So I was having mad problems again, still havent had the ballz to take the leap of faith and reformat my drive, since I still cant back it up perfectly (always some kind of bullsht errors). I tried updating the chipset+usb host controllers, all seemed to have latest version altho I was lazy and only used Win Update, I somewhat checked on Intel for updated versions but got fed up. Then I uninstalled Ak. sys and the USB 4K driver, re-installed them, it did a full backup up to 98% and then gave me a error saying one of my folders was wacky then it stopped there and didnt do the rest of the folders, but fortunately there were only 2 folders left, so I backed them up and this was the first time I actually completed a full backup.....well almost full, since I am convinced the faulty folder is fine. Woo-hoo I got a semi-working AK.sys!!!! I'm convinced its the 4K USB drivers.
Any news on that open source AK.sys we were talking about a while back?

With Battery u can open MPC .pgm files, as I've done many times and it has loaded numerous .snd files though some of them load improperly, seems like some thing to do with the sample rate the original sample rate. Cuz samples are all sped up.. Basically battery is an MPC Editor on steriods and u can wave edit for ak.sys as I've just learned. To tell u the truth some cats who I grew up on the MPC with put me onto Battery , with a simple AKAI MPD16-24, u pretty much can use it as an mpc with the sequenceing in Cubase. They've altogether gotten rid of their MPCs. I'm not that convinced and love my 4K. But it's a geat addition let me tell u, and the file tranfer between them works amazing. U can click on a sample in AK.sys and it will load it into battery as it wud do with ur wav editor, after editing the sample it asks u if u wud like to transfer the new modified version back to the mpc.
I love battery 2. I still don't use my mpc as much as i use battery 2. That is an amazing piece of software. Can anyone explain to me what ak sys actually does. I read in an article that producer B cox uses it with logic and it display his 4000 on his laptop..

Ak.Sys provides the following.
-- A computer based Graphical User Interface for MPC 4000's. It allows one to edit
the various components of the Mulit's and Programs. If one wishes to Edit the
sample on the computer, it will transfer it to the Sample program of your choice
-- Allows transfers via USB of what is on the MPC 4000's Current Memory, Harddrives, CD-ROM and/or USB JumpDrives

You know it is a fact that smoking weed and using computers will result in system failure!
