loading .wav files onto the mpc2000xl

i put a few kicks and snares onto a floppy disk (wav format) when i tried loading it.. it showed up as a bunch of jiburish.. how do i make it work?

Is the samples playing and the file names messed up or what?

if your sample names are longer than 8 characters the mpc changes the name to random things. Did you try formating that floppy disk before you put samples on it? Try renaming your samples to be 8 characters or shorter and put them on a formated floppy disk. Hope that helps

That's what I was gettin to next. And if there's any puntuation marks or crazy symbols get them outta there

thank you both, it worked fine now.. now i have a different question.. if i use a sample from a floppy disk, is there anyway to save that sample into the mpc's
internal memory. i couldnt figure out how to save it to my triton.

the internal memory is only RAM. When you turn the mp off it'll be lost. you'd need to save it on a floppy with your beat
