please help

I am getting ready to buy some new equiptment and I need some advicel
I can either buy the mpc2000xl and the roland xv5050 or I can buy the
mpc4000. Please help.

Check your budget and determine your production style. MPC 4000 is a full fledge sampler which means that you can create new sounds using filters, evelopes, pitch, and LFOs similair to a real synth but it has no sounds you have to sample in everything. The 2000XL is a drum sampler using phrases and drum hits, but if you buy the roland xv5000 together with the 2000XL you can use it mainly as your sequencer to record and play back your composition. If you have synthesizer programming background already go with the 4000 it is more powerful than the 2000XL; however, if you are just starting out and on a budget get the 2000XL and Roland combo and start making music.

Hey thanks for the words of wisdom. I don't have a deep background with
alot of that equiptment so like you said go with the 2piece variety and that way I can start making music now as oppossed to this long drawn out
learning curve that may frustrate me and discourage me, thanxs!!!!!
