I been doin my research on the JJ OS and it definatley looks phat. I checked out some comparison charts between the OS's that are available for the MPC 1k and the pros look to outway the cons regarding the JJ OS. I just got my MPC1k about a week ago and I been going through the mpc manual and now the mpc-tutor book to learn the MP. Would it be best for me to finish going through the tutor book which is written with the factory OS in mind or should I just go ahead and jump into the JJ OS? Whatz the learning curve with the JJ OS? Please keep in mind I am new to the MPC 1k and I am comming from a strictly MIDI/Software (Reason 3) set up. Any advice is appreciated and will be prayerfully considered.

I think I asked this question a few months back. I was about 3/4 of the way through the mpc tutor manual beofre I switched. Not much was different when I switched.

Definitely there is not a great deal of a learning curve. I would be somewhat 'familiar' with the akai os first before you switch though, but you won't be horribly lost if you switch early.

Thatz a good point. I was feelin like I should just roll with the Akai OS until I got familiar and then graduate to JJ.

Preparation requires patience and patience is a gift from God.

I started yesterday directly onto the free jjos, and I gotta say i'm pretty confused, the jjos manual seems to be a bit lost in translation.

Sometimes we want 2 much 2 fast, especially in this music thang. The prodigal son in the bible wanted 2 much 2 fast and when he got it, he tricked it off cause he wasn't ready for it. Luke 15: 11-32. A true word for true life.

thanks for yo comments.
