ready to buy

I am new to this forum and I am looking for advice. I am ready to buy
some new equiptment and I can afford either the 2000xl plus the roland
xv5050 or the mpc4000. I currently have a mo phatt and the triton, someone please help.

That's a tough decision. I was in the store yesterday and checked out the 4000 upclose and personal for the very first time. I am a MPC3000 user and I was a little lost. I'm sure with some time and the manual or some tutorials, I'd be ok.

Since you already have a Triton, what's wrong with just addiing the 2000XL or 4000 to your current arsenal and skipping the Roland?

Yeah thats why I am kinda checking out this site. I don't know if I would
be redundant by buying the xv5050 and mpc2000xl. Or if I just bought
the 4000 I would be "more" in line with the future.

I knoww yall gon kill me when i say this....dont get me wrong i am an akai fanatic but instead of getting the 4000 i would suggest getting the mv8000.....First of all its less than the 400 has cd burning capabilities...mastering and mixing already built inside and u can add a monitor to it in the future

Since you already have two other romplers I'd go for the MPC 4000. The sampler on the 2kxl is rather limited compared to the 4k not to mention other features that the 4k has that the 2kxl doesn't but you might not need everything the 4k has to offer so I'd check out the specs and see which one suits your needs.

go for software sequencing........ i wouldent but alot of peeps find it very useful

thats probably what I would have said.

I don't know about anybody else but w/ my time working w/ the 4000 I discovered it to be a f#cking MONSTER . Massive amounts of time must be put into mastering that machine . So I would say that if you want a powerhouse drum machine/sampler get it . But . . . . . if you just want a ill drum machine to crack drums out to accompany the "Korg Tri-ton" then I'd get the XL and the extra module (seeing as your'e already familiar w/ 'em) .
