i read an interview with pete rock, about he thought it was wack people
sampling off compilations and such.
i love pete but yuck that, if there is a phat snare sound or hi hat or whatever i will sample with no qualms.
i understand that looping what a million people have looped before u is wack. but i am on a budget so to speak and comps give me at least a nice vareity.
well that is all.
peace and such.

i think comps are great, pete rock got two for all i know, pete treats and funk spectrum with keb darge.so whys he talkin ish,who knows

Yeah im not sacred like peeps shadow who only like to use first eds etc....doesn't matter where the sound comes from its how you use it....

i probably break every diggers rule by sampling off of mp3...how else am i gonna get a particular sound if the vinyl aint available?

if its bad sounding ill use some plug ins or maybe my guitar pre to dirty and warm it a little....makes sense if you want that snare from 'super-rare 70's funk tune' but cant find it in any record shops and dj's just say 'good luck' when you say your looking for it....

me three...i never use just a raw sanre (hell id be lucky to find one that fits magically with no layering/tweaking)

ive also used my crappy mic to sample bong hits, birdsong out my window...neighbours arguing down the hall....its all good!

yo check out sampling love. Breaks.com aint got ish on it. Its a paperback book with 1000s of records that have been sampled. I use it for before I dig to get some names to look out for.
