Discuss the various methods you use in music production, from compressor settings to equipment type.

Recently, I have really been using reason as my primary sound source and the MPC-1k as the sequencer. I really have not had alot of success using rewire to record tracks and don't want to do several ad/da conversions to get the tracks recorded. So, what I have been doing is saving sequence as a midi file on MPC, transfering to PC, and importing the midi file in Reason. Once this is done I assign the midi track to the module used, pencil the bars, tweak/pan the sounds, solo each track, and export each loop to a folder. Using these loops, I open them in a recording program and arrange by duplicating the bars and adding/removing loops to give me drops/change-ups.

This is a long tedious process. Is there a simpler way to record individual tracks from Reason staying inside the box?

just mute the other tracks and export. and then repeat for as many track you have.
