Pads of 2000xl vs. 2500. . .

Hi. I feel a total difference between the pads of the 2kxl and the 2500/1000. I think they are much stiffer and solid. They dont have the soft and bouncy feel of the 2kxl. Does anyone else agree with me? I want to buy a 2500 becasue i need more memory when i go on stage with my tracks but im not impressed with the pads.

Any feedback/advice would be much appreciated?

shit gets better after like 2 months of usage, atleast for me.

But yeah, they are stiff and will be. Get the JJ OS for a better velocity!

Yeah the pads for the 1000 and 2500 are way harder. U could just get an external hd for the 2kxl. Or u could get the 2500 and do pad replacements.... which would be a lot more labor intensive

the pads that you can buy on the net for the 2k, can you use them on the 2500? Would that make any difference? Is it actually the pads or the way the machine is built underneath them?

might be the machine under em, but in theory the 2500 should have the same pad assembly as the 2000xl....

the 2500 at a local shop i used to stop by had it for over a year and you know people were pounding those things day in and day out and the feel hasn't changed..

we dont even need to discuss the 1000 or 500 pads as they feel extremely stiff

i felt the pads of a friends less than a year old 2000xlMCD and the pads were soft and felt like my XL...

the 2000xl has the perfect feel pour moi, i've felt the 3000 and they feel very similar!

kinda weird, but i guess it beats having pads that dont work at all, shout out to my 1000

Its the way its built. Peep the 1000 forum for the pad replacement that Antonym did.

I basically need an MPC that i can go on stage with but feels the same. Id love to go on stage with my 2kXL but its not got enough memory. I need to find a workaround. The feeling of the pads will make a lot of difference. Any Ideas?

get a 1000 and just sync your 2000xl with it so that it triggers the 1000

ive no idea how id go about this. How id load programs and sounds and sequences and use track mute to bring parts in and out. . .

Any ideas?

I went from a xl to a 2500 a few weeks ago and indeed am disappointed with the pads. When note-repeat is on for example I'm finding it very difficult to get ghost-notes where and how I want them in comparison to on the 2000xl... They just tend to be dropped in with maximum velocity or a bit late altogether. It might be something to get used to but for now I'm not impressed.
