they ever come out with the 1000 stencil so i can paint it?

You want to pain the MPC? or do you want to get a stencil of an MPC to paint them on walls or somethign?

If your trying to paint the mpc, then just unscrew it, and cover the pads with something.

And if your trying to paint mpcs on walls, please dont paint them on mine!

i want a stencil so when i paint my mpc 1000, i can put the button lettering back on it

that wouldnt be a bad idea. I was thinking about doing my case as well but didnt know how to go about replacing the text. another option i thought of was laser engraving. If you track down a stencil lemme know...

When I do, ima take my old blue chassis and have it painted a solid color. No letters or anything. I figure it will look boring as hell but might be just what I need to really learn to use the thing without having to look at it all the time.

Plus it will keep my friends from trying to use it all the time.

how would one go about getting that onto a vinyl stencil or something though so that you could apply it to the MPC plate

there's gotta be companies that make custom stencils right?

I just want a stencil though, to get the text back on - not a giant decal to cover the entire MPC. I bought a second set of faceplates and sidepanels which I am going to paint, and a stencil would be an easy way to get the lettering back on after I lay down the base color

I found a place though, and e-mailed them for an estimate on a stencil. If they get back to me and it's a good deal, I will post up the link to the place

i think the lettering is a little small for standard stencils, perhaps a silk screen would be better?

the company I found manufacturers stencils for silkscreening purposes

I don't have the means to do a proper silkscreen though, so I'm hoping that a paint-covered sponge would work well enough

isn't that how a silkscreen works? you just put a paper or plastic stencil in there and then screen some paint through the holes? that's how it worked in 3rd grade art class at least

yes, but you remember trying to make a letter 'o'? you couldn't block out the middle, correct? it just made a round dot, yes? silkscreening actually uses a piece of silk with a special glue-like material painted on where you dont want paint (or, more commonly, ink) to go. the fact there is silk everywhere means you can block paint anywhere, you don't need support struts holding the centre of an 'o' for example.
