Need Help learning my MPC2000

I just recently purchased an MPC2000, but im new at this drum machine, its way more advanced then my old shit. If neone could give me pointers or suggestions that would be grate. I have no sounds so far which sucks.

yea i have tables and records, I have no drum sounds or kits. I bought some drum kits over the net but my comp doesnt have floppy drive. Also i know a reg floppy is too small to hold the kits correct? Should i get an external zip drive with zip disks that hold like 100mb? But then im not to sure on how to load them. I know you have to hold shift and then hit load but actually getting them assigned to the key pads im not to sure about. Is there a way i can hook the mpc straight up to my comp? but yet the 2000 doesnt have a usb port. And if i need an external zip drive do i need a certain one? and arent zip disk alot bigger than regular floppy like size wise?

ok wait just reading over someones suggestion and thinking about it. I can also just find some drum kicks or snare hits from a record and sample them that way and kinda make my own kit? is this possibal? If so how would i get all the other recorded sounds out of the sample after so i just have those sounds singled out? If this is even possibal

Look for "breaks" in the record, where the Beat is by itself.
Sometimes you can get alot of drums just from the intro of a song, or some single hits.

Ok i here what your saying, you can actually see where the breaks are on records, thanks man. I would read the manual but i didnt get one with it which sucks. Its hard to find one too iv been looking.

after i find a break and sample it can i use each indiviual sound so i can start from scratch? or would i have to use the drum sample itself but chop it up and use it that way?

I have some floppies with kits on all four banks. so a floppy is big enough to start out with. you can get internal floppy drives for 6 bucks, and usb ones for about 20 bucks. upgrading to zip is a better choice tho imo.
