MPC 2KXL and Reason- PLEASE HELP/ADVISE

When I use Reason with MPC 2000xl via midi, sometimes the sound banks map to the pads in order by pitch and sometimes they don't. Is this a setting somewhere that I am missing? Or is this just the way sh!t goes. Im pretty sure there is a way to corrrect this but I dont know how to do it. Ive tried lots of stuff but cant seem to figure it out.

Note: when I map to my keyboard it ALWAYS is in order by pitch no matter what the sound is but there are times when I would like to play the pads instead of the keys.

PLEASE ADVISE!

How do I change the pad? To my knowledge I cannot change the pitch or tune of a midi controlled sound from the MPC...
