Hey,

How do you assign external effects to the MPC 1000 pads.
example - I want to run some boss delay onto a bass drum and snare sample sound.

I would like to be able to control which pad has the effect applied.

In the past I used a cheap Boss drum machine and applied guitar effects to the whole mix. With the MPC I kinda hoped I could control which pad got the effect iving me better control over the final composition and mix.

Any ideas?

Use the multiple outs.

If so, you can add effects via the mixer AUX. You know, using the SEND and RETURN of the mixing board... I have a compressor and a reverb going into the mixer so I can have these two effects available at once on the four channel strips coming from the MPC individual outs.

In other words the four individual outs of the MPC go into four separate channel strips in the mixer. Let's say kick, snare, hihat and shaker. Each channel strip—meaning each of these sounds—can then have reverb and compression by turning the AUX knobs at the top of the strip.

I don't know how much of a gearhead you are so I hope you do understand what I mean.

Yep I have a little mixer, so this sounds like a great solution.

Only one question (and sorry if you have already answered it).

How do you loop the effect backi nto the MPC from a mixer so I can resample each pad sound e.g kick, snare with the effect e.g reverb that I have applied.

I guess I want 2 things.

1. A live setup so I can manipulate the drum parts live through the mixer and

2. A second setup so I can loop the effect back into the MPC and re-sample - then put together new sequences
