choppingsamples and spreading them out over the16 padsMP2kxl

sup everyone.beaglin here...I was watching Pete rock on you tube chop samples and spread them out over the 16 pads of the Mpc with a Pat benetar sample and also Boon dock on the Mpc 1000 do the same..I have a 2000xl and I can sample and chop i just don't know how to spread the sample over the 16 pads..I think I could do more with my samples knowing this..I apologize for the novice question..I just need some help..I'd appreciate the help everyone..thanks in advance

hit shift + 6(program) then go to assign. dial in your program at the top and then press the pad that you want to assign a certain chop to. then in the Snd: field select the chop for that pad.

this is basic stuff man.

or... while you're in the zone screen hit edit and make sure you are on the "slice sound" function. highlight "create new program:" and select yes. this will assign the chops to pads in succession for you.

A lot of people nowadays ask really basic stuff that's just in the manual.

Me personally, I'd rather try it on my own with or without help of a manual rather than asking on a forum.

word. i like experimenting as well. i learned mostly all of the basic functions before getting into the manual
