Right now, honestly, I would either phuck with Forat or VST and let them do the internal reader for you for ~$300 or whatever, or just stick with Zip or Jaz drives. That place that sells the external SCSI card reader is raping people for $250 for those joints now. I paid $125 for mine less than 6 months ago, and I thought it was a little high then, but it was a worthy investment. But when you can get a USB card reader for less than $20, $250 makes NO SENSE! Especially when it was $125 just a few months ago. Supply and demand is cool and everything, but thats just wrong! You should be able to find a ZIP drive or Jaz drive and disks real cheap. Honestly I don't know what the hell that place is thinking. The biggest reason I would go card reader or Zip/Jaz disks over an external HD is simple...how are you supposed to back it up? From what I understand, you can't just attach the external SCSI HD to your PC and back it up that way. So if you can't back it up, and something happens to the HD, your phucked.
Please believe people, if you've never had a HD crash on you, IT WILL HAPPEN AT SOME POINT! They are NOT made to last forever, and even the rated MTBF is BS for most of them.
Peace,
