Seriously considering beat making as a new hobby

Sup everybody, As of a few months ago ive kindled a interest in beat production. And after a few trips to guitar center and getting some hands on time with the mpc 1K that interest has moved into serious consideration. The interest only grew I came across beat producer Boon Doc aka Boony Mayfield and heard the insane beats he layed down. So heres my question to those who are more experience. I would like to know what a basic rig set up would consist of in order to make some beats. Nothing pro-status, im not looking to make any money from this, but enough to lay down something decent and maybe show off to a person or two. From what i saw on youtube i know im gonna need:

mpc 1K

i have a old yamaha psr 190 dont know if i can use it for beat making

Turntable but i have zero vinyl, may get some if i get good at it

Not to sure if i need a computer

Any info in this will help, thanks for hearing me out

a computer is highly recomended to mixdown your beats your psr can be used as a midi controller of a module like a motif or triton which are basicly some sounds banks in hardware. you also need a sound card to hook up your stuffs to the computer if you want to mixdon on it that's pretty much it.

In general I'd say:

- sampler (with keys or pads)
- rompler or midi controller + sound module
- daw to track out to and mixdown
- vinyl and lots of it

That'll get you definately started...Best is to learn one piece of gear before including another piece into your setup I reckon.
