Just got MPC 2000XL out of box.

I just bought an MPC 2000XL and got it out the box.

It has come with a CD drive but there is no power cable to the drive so i will have to buy one tomorrow. But i can borrow the one powering this computer when it's turned off.

There are no CDs or floppy disks that have come with it.

At the moment i have no speakers to connect it up to but i have a mixer which i can use with headphones if needed to hook the MPC up to it. Or i can plug headphones into the MPC.

My question is, how can i get some sounds out of it just to see it works properly?

Is there anything anyone can upload that i can burn to a CD?

How do i load in the sounds? where can i get them from?

Sample them. Of course I'm oversimplifying it, but that is the easiest way to test it out.

I am a complete novice. Where can i sample from? i don't think i have any leads for it.

Connect the output from your mixer to the inputs on the MPC, and then sample from vinyl, CD, PC, whatever. The manual should tell you everything you need to know about the how, but you need an input source for the what.

im not trying to sound rude but before buying an mpc maybe you should do a little research on them to learn about sampling and what it means. watch some videos on youtube alot of people show how to do things on there

haha sorry bro, when i said where can i sample from i meant which port. I know what records i want to sample from - i have been buying vinyl for several years and know the records well enough... and yeah, of course i've been watching all the videos of the MPCs on YouTube.

My problem is, i just got the MPC with not much with it, no disks or anything so i am just trying to work it all out.
