Two dead pads on brand new MPC!!!

nah there's actually little plastic on the mpc 1000 besides the sides and the buttons. most the inside is metal.

don't sweat it. keep the 1000 for now and work around it. you'll be very very glad you did.

mpd16s will be cheaper than my pad solution, these days. they've really dropped in price.

yup. don't know how much more, but not crazy. parts are expensive.
originally i had planned to make it really cheap, but once i got into this, i decided to do it right.

i certainly couldn't have gone through all this to have anything less than the best.

as a reference, getting 16 of the old pads from VST costs 108.

let's say I got your pads and a year down the road decide to sell the 1000. What do you think people would think of "new custom pads" in it.

Either way, can't see what your final product looks like. My pads aren't horrible but the ones you are working on just sound so nice.

by the time you're done with the mod job there will be a pile of stuff you won't need anymore.

it'll be as if you'd replaced your old old pc's 32 megabytes of ram with a gig.

haha, sounds good to me - i've got the blue one so it's not like i atually have any warranty left.

as long as everything else keeps working on it though, i don't really see any real reason that I would be selling it, so I can't wait for the pads

And now, finally... 7 months later, I have my MPC back and it is working.
Plus the new pads feel totally different now. Completely.

I also have the newest JJ OS and is feels banging good right now!
Being a MPC user since year 2000 (mpc2kxl) the JJ OS feels so intuitive and great! If some of you haven't bought it yet, go do it now. Today.

Let's see how long It will work before it dies.

get the mpc 2500 its ****in sweet

for sure swap it out. my 1k has never ever come close to letting me down. but i'll put it this way, i had to replace my xbox 360 once because the drive would literally BURN the discs. got it switched and now it appears i no longer have a lemon 360.

i just read what you guys are talking about on the second page, yeeah take pics of those pads.
