play multitimbral synth with mpc

I have an mpc 2500 and a korg r3 and I want the mpc 2500 to play the korg r3 synth using midi to play two sounds at a time , I can play one sound at the moment with no problem , maybe my problem lies within the korg but i want to be sure i have the mpc working properly first .
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

use different midi channels for the different timbres. it's as simple as choosing a different channel on the track on the main screen. you may need to alter settings on the r3 too, but you'll need to figure that out for yourself.

You can also record the sequence to the MPC, copy the midi notes to a new track, and change the instrument on the next corresponding channel on the M3. Stacking instruments has never been easier.

He as an R3 though not an M3

R3 has two timbres. So you can assign Timbre1 to say midi channel 1 and timbre2 to midi channel 2. That's the most you can do at once.

I'd tell you exactly how to do it, but I haven't actually done it on my R3 - I just sample the R3 as many times as I need to to get as many different timbres as I have RAM for (which is what I think episode said to do).

Check the R3 manual though, it will have an explanation on how to do it - as far as what you need to do on the MPC... just set the tracks to the appropriate midi channel.

ahhh, got it. i don't see how i read that wrong. anyway, yeah, having being that it only has two timbres then, it's quite limited.

Im getting there , these machines are working well together .
dvs01 do you mean sample the audio to get more than two timbres.
