Huge problem with my 2000xl

i just got my 2000xl that i orderd of ebay and here is wuts up. I load upsoum sounds and when i try to record a pattern, (or do any thing to the sample, the pads stop working and i have asequence full of silence. i am not completly new to mpc i have hada 500 befor so its not some thing stimple master volumer or some thing i checked all that. Could this be an osproblem i have 1.04 thanks

Yea, u definately gotta update that os.. go to akai pro .com and dl that new version.. They also got it on forat.com i think its 1.20

That doesn't sound like anything that would happen cuz of an old OS but you should definately go get the new one.

When you go to record your still on the same program all your sounds are assigned to right?

i havent even goten to recording im jsut messing with the zip that came with it. when i hit record/play all my sounds dont work

Well in ur first post u talk about trying to record a sequence. If ur not recording anything I don't know why ur talking about record/play?

wow i feel stupide. i didnt know what i was doing......the 200xl and 500 are completly diffrent machines.
