there are differences but nothing I'd say that was better or worse. Just different sounds from different equipment. I'll be stickin with the 2kxl!

I know there is a different sound with the 2000. I have all the MPC's And I known From Experience.

Its weird to. For some reason, I noticed when I make beats in the night compared to the hot humid days, the beat sound different.

I think the humid hot weather messes with the internal workings of the machines.

Perhaps the transmission of sound waves through the air are affected by it's humidity?

to clarify, recorded songs that are played back anywhere at anytime that were recorded during humidity and heat sound different.

i gave a call to a friend at a music store, and he says that plays a HUDGE part, but no one has ever tested it on the drum machines YET, but its a fact with old mixers and tape recorders.

I don't know how humidity could affect an electrical signal to be honest. Any change would be pretty much unnoticeable I would have thought. Perhaps the weather affects your beat-making rather than your equipment, that would seem more likely.

Because they're analogue all the way through, whereas in an MPC the temperature would only have a chance to affect the signal until it hits the ADC, which I assume is pretty much the first thing it does after the input.

exactly, humidity won't really affect the workings of a pcb, well not in any way you could notice in terms of audio anyway

My thoughts are (as I own a mpc2000 since february) that ''the sound'' from the mpc hasnt to do with sound (that depends on the sounds loaded)but with 'groove'
In my opinion its because of the 'TIMING' : 1/8,1/16,1/32,OFF,makes it sound more real .. just what i was thinking,and read earlier

and solah ,in what way you think the 2000 sounds different? ?
